WHEN GOD CALLS

“... and one does not take the honour upon himself, but he is called by God, just as Aaron was” – Heb. 5: 4.

“Blessed is he whom thou dost choose and bring near, to dwell in thy courts! We shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, thy holy temple!” – Psalms 65: 4.

“He sent Moses His servant, and Aaron whom He had chosen. They wrought His signs among them, and miracles in the land of Ham” – Psalms 105: 26 – 27.

“When men in the camp were jealous of Moses and Aaron, the holy one of the Lord, the earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, and covered the company of Abi’ram. Fire also broke out in their company; the flame burned up the wicked” – Psalms 106: 16 – 18.

1. When God calls you, He calls you to send you.                                                                                              2. When God calls you, He reveals who you are or what you are to do for Him.                                                       3. When God calls you, He calls you to Himself.                                                                                                                         4. When God calls you, you are the holy one of the Lord.                                                                                                         5. When God calls you, He calls you into a covenant with Him.                                                                                                     6. When God calls you, your call is your mandate.                                                                                                     7. When God calls you, He commissions you.                                                                                                                      8. When God calls you, He trains you – school of adversity could be part of it.                                                                   9. When God calls you, He is the best employer.                                                                                                         10. When God calls you, you will give account to Him.                                                                                                     11. When God calls you, the Dark kingdom take note and mobilize against you.                                                     12. When God calls you, He defends you and gives you rest.                                                                                        13. When God calls you, He calls you to partner Him.                                                                                                14. When God calls you, He calls you to fulfil purpose and destiny.                                                                                           15. When God calls you, He calls you to be a solution.                                                                                                  16. When God calls you, He calls you to operate in the supernatural.                                                                      17. When God calls you, He calls you to manifest through you.                                                                                   18. When God calls you, He calls you in love, faithfulness and favour.                                                                     19. When God calls you, He calls you to reward you here and in the afterlife.                                                                20. When God calls you, He calls you to distinguish you.                                                                                                 21. When God calls you, He calls you to make a difference.                                                                                              22. When God calls you, He enables you – often called anointing.                                                                             23. When God calls you, He makes you a specialist.                                                                                                     24. When God calls you, He chose you out of many.                                                                                                        25. When God calls you, He qualifies you.                                                                                                                     26. When God calls you, He puts His resources and creation at your disposal.                                                                       27. When God calls you, His Kingdom comes.                                                                                                                   28. When God calls you, His will is done on earth.                                                                                                         29. When God calls you, your family and loved ones come under His banner.                                                              30. When God calls you, you succeed ultimately.
31. When God calls you, the wise answer immediately and GO!

Only those who answer and remain in their call experience the totality and awesomeness of God. In reality you cannot call yourself, you cannot send yourself, you cannot reward yourself, you cannot, to say the least, anoint yourself.           
Only God does so.

 

WHO PACKED YOUR PARACHUTE?

Proverbs 3:27: “Withold not good from them to whom it is due when it is in the power of thine hand to do it.”

How many times have you ignored the very people who, perhaps indirectly have helped to make your life what it is. God has spoken clearly through the Bible that we should be there for others and give to him that asks of us. Bob Gass related a story of an American Navy pilot, Charles Plumb who fought in Vietnam.  

                

After 75 missions his plane was shot down and he parachuted into enemy territory.  He survived for 6 years in a communist prison. Now he lectures on his experience.   One day a man came up to him and said, ‘You are Plumb! You flew jet fighter from the air craft carrier Kitty Hawk. You were shot down!’ Plumb replied, ‘How in the world did you know that?’ Smiling the man said, ‘I packed your parachute, I guess it worked.’ 

The story goes on to say that that night Plumb could not sleep. He kept wondering what that man might have looked like in uniform. How many times he had walked past him without speaking because he was a fighter pilot and the man just a sailor?     Plumb began to wonder how many hours this sailor had spent in the bowels of the ship carefully weaving the shrouds and folding the silk of each parachute, holding in his hand the fate of someone he didn’t even know.

If Plumb’s parachute were faulty he would have never survived the war! The question is, ‘Who packed your parachute?’ Who has helped you to arrive where you are today? In Romans 16:4, Paul mentioned people most of us would never have gotten to hear of like Pricilla and Aquila, ‘Who for my sake risked their necks.’

Bob Gass makes us know that there are no self made people. For the higher you go the more dependent you become on others. ‘Everyone who has ever done a kind deed or spoken a word of encouragement has entered into the make-up of our character, our thoughts, and our success; says George Matthew Adams. Don’t be self centered and look down on others. Find out who packed your parachute? Be Christ-like and do appreciate others.
