They said therefore
unto him, what must we do, that we may work the works of God? Jesus told them, “This is what God wants you to do:
Believe in the one he has sent.”John 6: 28 – 29.
‘‘Verily, verily, I
say unto you, he that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also;
and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto the Father’’ John 14: 12.
The ONLY criteria to meet as a child of
God in order to do the wonderful works Jesus did are to only BELIEVE. Trust Jesus, His
words or promises completely. Put a demand on them, which is, His promises, or
words or Jesus Himself; you do this by putting your belief to effective and
active use as the situation or circumstances demands, just as Jesus did when He
lived in flesh and blood amongst men many years ago.
Remember Elijah and Elisha. Elijah was
like Jesus to Elisha and so when Elijah
was taken up into heaven, Elisha picked up his mantle, went to river Jordan,
and said, ''where is the Lord God of
Elijah"? Before smiting the river with the mantle as Elijah had
earlier done. Of course the river parted
like it did for Elijah. Elisha put a demand on what he believed and got the
expected results.
Remember the ‘Good Samaritan’. He was the
only one that responded to the needs or suffering of the man lying on the
street after being beaten and robbed. He put a demand on what he believed as
the occasion demanded and got results because soon after that man was treated,
cared for and back on his feet again.
So, having known this now; will you do
GREATER WORKS in the name of Jesus?
Maran'atha,
Ambassador R. A. Y.
